The Overcoming Obstacles Curriculum: A Horse Agility and Competitive Western Trail program to build confidence, communication skills and courage. Overcoming Obstacles is a therapeutic riding program designed for women and girls who have experienced domestic violence, abuse and coercion. It is important to understand that this program is experiential, participants are operating in the moment not processing past events. Using Competitive Western Trail Riding and Horse Agility as learning tools, the Overcoming Obstacles project empowers women to develop essential life skills, build confidence, improve mental and physical health, create social networks and gain leadership skills.
